Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for mailroom packaging equipment, delivering newspaper bundles to the loading dock, and the pallet staging area with the aid of power equipment. Counts and prepares pre-print pieces for delivery and performs all duties associated with the machine operator position.
This position is scheduled Monday through Friday 10 am to 6:30 pm, occasional Sundays 10 am to 6:30 pm (+/-).
What you will do:
Monitors mailroom machinery and ensures proper equipment functionality including stackers, tyers, and bottom wrap equipment
Makes adjustments to the equipment as necessary, calls on maintenance as needed, and completes repair orders when appropriate
Completely and accurately generates all paperwork associated with the mailroom operator role and records all counts
Receives and prepares all freestanding inserts and pre-printed materials for packaging and shipping
Participates in the set-up and clean-up of mailroom equipment, including maintaining the work area and keeping it clean and free of obstacles at all times
Serves as a proactive customer service ambassador of SCNG by representing the organization in a positive, professional manner
Ensures external and internal customer inquiries are responded to on a timely basis
What you will bring:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift
Ability to operate an electric pallet jack and other power lift equipment
Basic math skills
Effective communication skills
High School diploma or equivalent
1 year in an applicable industry
Benefits and Compensation:
The hourly range is $18.00 - $22.00.
