MAC Furniture Technician - JLL
 

What this job involves

The MAC Furniture Technician position supports Moves, Adds and changes in a traditional office setting at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.  Office space includes traditional offices, cubicles, and workstations as well as support areas such as conference rooms, work areas, lab spaces and team areas.  Technician will assist with physical personnel relocations, new office setups, and changes to existing office furniture as well as maintaining functionality by repairing inefficiencies or malfunctions.
 

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Assist with physical personnel moves throughout the facility
  • Assemble and disassemble office furniture systems
  • Read and interpret AutoCAD generated prints for accurate installation
  • Install office equipment including shelving, whiteboards/markerboards, pictures, clocks, and monitor mounts on various surfaces (concrete, block, drywall, glass)
  • Perform office furniture re-keying tasks
  • Execute furniture modifications through drilling, screwing, cutting, sanding, and other techniques
  • Load and unload box trucks for furniture transport
  • Prepare and clean up job sites before and after projects
  • Provide support to third-party vendors during installations or repairs
  • Comply with all safety regulations and site procedures
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety standards in work areas
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
  • Complete other assigned operational tasks as needed
     

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects and tools regularly
  • Ability to reach with arms and hands, and communicate effectively
  • Capability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl frequently
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 100 pounds
  • Occasional ability to lift and move more than 100 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience with furniture installation systems (Steelcase, Herman Miller, etc.)
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD prints and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of various installation surfaces and appropriate mounting techniques
