We are seeking an M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions )Operations Associate to be seconded to Group Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) for 6-12 months, to support the Group M&A Director (and Group M&A team) in managing and coordinating activities related to the RR Group’s extensive portfolio of projects including divestments, partnerships, acquisitions, fundraisings, etc.

What you will be doing

Responsibilities and Skillsets

The M&A Operations Associate would carry out the following:

  • Coordinate weekly M&A team calls (including compiling key inputs on project updates) and ensure that the relevant team tools and systems are kept up to date
  • Update and manage programme tracker materials (XLS, PPT) with latest information and support the preparation of materials for project steering committees, ET, Board and other audiences as required
  • Monitor project timelines, milestones, project budgets and payments (advisors, consultants, contractors) in collaboration with other teams. Provide early warning of any divergences
  • Coordinate with Group Financial Planning & Analysis to ensure the latest 5YP and internal reporting reflects the latest programme information.
  • Support members of the M&A team with ad-hoc elements of live M&A deals

Who we are looking for

The M&A Operations Associate would have the following qualities:

  • At least two years of programme management experience in some capacity
  • Solid understanding of RR businesses, external environment, and internal Group structure
  • Some working level relationships across the Group, with an ambition to further expand those
  • Extensive experience with Excel, Powerpoint, and Word – with ability to prepare clear, concise and professional internal discussion materials
  • Basic understanding of finance principles including financial statements and valuation
  • Ability to communicate across the Group to not only collect data, but to distribute key messages, coordinate key activities, and encourage pace and progress with project teams
  • Willingness to be primarily on site (vs remote) to spend in-person time with project teams and key stakeholders
  • Ability to work to tight timelines, be adaptable and thrive in a continuous learning environment.

Details

This role is anticipated to be fulfilled by an internal resource, seconded for 6 to 12 months (depending on other responsibilities) on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be preferably London based (to work in close proximity to the Group M&A team and leadership) but could also be based in Derby or Bristol - with some limited regional travel - or US or Germany, if the candidate shows strong internal relationships and communication skills.

The role would be considered hybrid, but the expectation is to be in the office for a minimum of 3 days per week.
