About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a highly motivated M&A Analyst to join our growing team in London. In this role, you will collaborate closely with industry coverage and M&A teams across the U.S. and Continental Europe, contributing to complex cross‑border transactions within a dynamic, sector‑agnostic environment.
As an M&A Analyst, you will take on a broad range of responsibilities within a high‑performing investment banking team that includes Interns, Analysts, Associates, Vice Presidents, Executive Directors, and Managing Directors. You will play an integral role in supporting deal origination, executing live transactions, and delivering high‑quality client materials.
Our team operates on a sector‑agnostic basis with a strong focus on U.S.–Europe cross‑border activity. As deal flow continues to increase, the team is expected to expand significantly over the coming years.
In this role, you will:
Perform the full set of responsibilities expected from an M&A Analyst in a team comprising of Interns, Analysts, Associates, Vice Presidents, Executive Directors and Managing Directors.
Conduct financial analysis, including comparable transactions and public company analysis.
Build detailed financial models for valuation and transaction-related purposes.
Prepare marketing documents, including pitch materials, confidential offering memoranda and management presentations.
Conduct comprehensive financial and industry due diligence to assess transaction risks and return parameters.
Produce sector and industry analysis, including market trends, growth drivers, and competitive dynamics.
Support senior bankers in relationship management, and interaction with existing and prospective clients.
Manage transaction logistics, such as organising data rooms and preparing working group lists.
Work with transparency, collaboration, and professionalism, adhering to the highest ethical standards.
Required Qualifications:
Strong academic performance from a top-tier institution. Bachelor's degree required with a minimum 2.1 classification, supported by appropriate A-Level and GCSE (or equivalent) results.
Prior experience in investment banking, either in product group or sector/country coverage.
Sound analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to assume significant responsibility.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and financial databases as such as FactSet, Refinitiv, and Mergermarket.
Sound quantitative and analytical skills with solid knowledge of accounting and valuation.
Demonstrated proficiency in working both independently and as part of a team, coordinating with internal stakeholders in a time-sensitive environment.
Exceptional organisational skills with proven ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
Ability to operate in a demanding, high-performance, and collaborative environment, including a willingness to work long hours when required.
High personal motivation, strong interest in a career in financial services, remarkable interpersonal skills, and broad intellectual capacity.
Team oriented mindset, acting with strong ethics and integrity at all times.
Experience in investment banking, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: professional work, training, military service, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
Proficiency in an additional European language is desired but not required.
