Position Overview:
 

We are seeking a Microsoft 365 Solution Architect across Entra, Intune, Defender, Purview and Productivity workloads.  In this role, you will be responsible for determining an organization’s business requirements and desired outcomes and mapping those to the appropriate Microsoft 365 solutions.  Your primary skills would include strong executive presence, experience talking to Director-level and C-Suite level resources, and being able to discern the organization’s goals and objectives.

You are good at telling a story and envisioning not just the immediate need or ask, but being flexible enough to think of the additional components around the overall solution. You will leverage your expertise in cloud-based security, on-premises infrastructure, and Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure workloads to properly advise the organization and provide recommendations to meet their needs.

Your role will be a mix of presales, solution design, scope writing, engagement quality assurance and oversight, process improvement and new solution offerings. You will have access to lab environments to make sure solutions are well thought out and pertain to the client’s particular situation.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in general IT infrastructure, with a focus on Microsoft 365, Azure and fundamental on-premises infrastructure.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience leading and managing technical consulting teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking and resourcefulness.
  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft 365 security and productivity features, configurations, and leading practices.
  • Solid experience in on-premises infrastructure, including Active Directory, Windows Server, and networking fundamentals (routing, private/public DNS, site-to-site, SD-WAN, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, including CMMC, DFARS, CIS, NIST, and ISO 27001 is preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multi-competency sales pursuits and delivery engagements with a high degree of critical thinking and understanding of how all of the different solutions fit together and collating all of the components together for successful architecture and delivery of the engagement
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Microsoft 365 security, including Defender for Office 365, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps, Entra ID, and the Purview Suite.
  • Use your understanding of Exchange/Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Teams to help guide net new Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant builds and also support M&A activity where needed
  • Oversee the design and implementation of security controls, policies, and compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS benchmarks, Zero Trust, MFA, FIDO, and identity governance).
  • Collaborate with our clients to understand their unique security and compliance requirements, including those related to CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) and DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement).
  • Occasionally conduct Microsoft 365 planning and design engagements and provide recommendations for improving security postures in line with regulatory and contractual obligations.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to advise clients effectively.
  • Work closely with other internal teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.

Certifications (preferred or willing to obtain):

  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or similar

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $95,400 - $192,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
