LTO/Spotter - 1st shiftPosition Overview
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Position trailers to specified dock doors, or parking area, also responsible for unloading to storage locations within the warehouse and/or for loading from storage locations to trailers for delivery to the customer. This position will service PK/PW/QM as needed.
Essential Functions:
Remove all unloaded inbound trailers to designated parking area.
Spot assigned outbound trailers to designated dock doors for unloading.
Remove unloaded trailers to designated secured parking area to prepare for pick up by transfer drivers.
Document daily the location of each trailer for tracking purposes. Also note if trailer needs repair and mark “out of service” if trailer is not in conformance of State and Federal guidelines.
Unload any undelivered or returned freight and locate proper storage locations as necessary.
Communicate daily with Traffic Coordinator for trailer assignments/special instructions.
Assist as Lift Truck Operator as required. **Note** See Lift Truck Operator Job Description.
Assist as delivery driver as needed. **Note** See Tractor Trailer Job Description.
Non-Essential Duties (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):
Pin lock equipment as required.
Maintain equipment as needed.
Use all lift truck mechanism to unload carpet off trailer.
Advise management of safety and maintenance needs.
Must be able to operate winch.
Perform tasks as determined by the Operations Manager

Must be able to write legibly.

Must be able to work during Physical Inventory as scheduled.
Perform tasks as determined by Operations Manager and/or Operations Supervisors.
Must have a valid Driver’s license
Training Requirements:
Must be trained to drive and hook up tractor/trailer combination by experienced truck driver.
Must be trained to operate a forklift by experienced lift truck operator.
Must be trained in operation of winch.
Tool, Equipment, and Material Requirements:
Tractor - single or tandem axle and trailer combination.
Dolly.
Operational winch.
Safety glasses when performing as lift truck operator.

Safety and Security Requirements:
Employ defensive driving techniques.
Attend all required safety meetings.
Chock vehicles while loading and unloading.
Ensure that orange cone is on dock plate before removing any trailer from dock.
Know procedure for chemical spill.
Insure safety and security of vehicle and cargo.
Know purpose of Manufacturers Safety Data Sheets.
Comply with Safety Rules and Regulations and Standards of Conduct set by Shaw Industries.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to drive tractor/trailer combination.
Able to climb in and out of truck a minimum of 50 times per day.
Must be able to bend, kneel, and have enough flexibility to inspect tractor and trailer.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
Must be able to turn crank on trailers a minimum of 50 times per day.
Must be able to perform a minimum of 10 hours overtime per week.
Pay Rate: $25.81
