[LTA-TRO] EXECUTIVE/ ENGINEER, INTELLIGENT TRANSPORT SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT[What you will be working on]
We are seeking a skilled IT Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain critical IT infrastructures supporting tunnel and expressway management systems, ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performance operations for safe and sustainable road networks. The role supports digital transformation initiatives and offers exposure to project management, IT architecture, cybersecurity, data analytics, system development and maintenance.
You will support planning, coordination, and oversight of IT system upgrades and maintenance for Singapore’s road traffic operations, including system inspections, troubleshooting, testing, performance monitoring, and resource management. You will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders and assist in responding to system-related user and public queries in a professional and timely manner.
Technical Leadership
Drive innovative solutions through rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept development with a focus on secure system design and risk mitigation.
Lead the design and implementation of scalable, resilient IT, incorporating security controls, compliance requirements, and, where applicable, AI capabilities and cloud-native applications.
Develop high-quality, maintainable code and configurations that meet user and operational needs, while ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards.
Promote technical excellence through code reviews, architecture reviews, and adherence to secure system development practices;
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation, architecture decision records, and security impact assessments.
Able to support night operations or critical system duties as required.
Willingness and ability to respond on-site promptly for incident resolution or system emergencies.
[What we are looking for]
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Security Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 3 years of proven experience in IT security engineering roles.
Candidates with experience in developing Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) solutions or cloud-native applications will be a plus.
Strong foundation in computer science principles with a deep understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, including system hardening, access control, encryption, and threat mitigation.
Solid understanding of system development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices, with hands-on experience using tools such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub workflows, and automated testing pipelines.
Knowledge of database concepts (SQL, No-SQL) and CI/CD pipeline (GitHub workflows).
Experience implementing secure CI/CD pipelines, ensuring code integrity, vulnerability scanning, and compliance with security best practices.
