[What the role is]

SENIOR UI/UX DESIGNER

[What you will be working on]

The Rail Digitalisation Division is a cross-functional and multi-disciplinary team set up to drive and deliver LTA’s Railway Common Data Platform (CDP), which includes data analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities to support rail performance and operational / maintenance enhancements. These are envisioned to translate to better cost efficiency, improved performance and commuters experience. 

[What we are looking for]

We are seeking a seasoned UI/UX Designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design for complex, data-rich applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid grounding in user-centred design principles, proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (product managers, engineers, data scientists), and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear, usable interfaces. Candidates with experience in transport, industrial systems, or analytics platforms are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with proven experience in mobile platform design, including native iOS and Android applications and mobile-first responsive workflows. 

Technical Skills 

  • Expert proficiency in Figma 
  • Experience designing for mobile platforms (native iOS and Android) and mobile-first responsive design. 
  • Strong skills in wireframing, interaction design, and high-fidelity mockups. 
  • Experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries.  
  • Competence with user research methodologies: contextual inquiry, interviews, surveys, usability testing.  
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with engineers.  
  • Ability to work with analytics and product metrics (e.g., Mixpanel, Google Analytics) to inform design decisions. 
  • Experience creating design artifacts for responsive web and enterprise dashboards.

Additional Information  

  • Background knowledge in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Communication, Industrial Design, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred
  • At least 5 years relevant UI/UX design experience, preferably with data-heavy or enterprise products.  
  • Candidates with a strong portfolio but non-traditional backgrounds will be considered.  
  • Successful candidates may be expected to undertake design tasks and stakeholder workshops as part of the interview process.
