LPN Unit Assistant Per Diem - Hospital Medicine

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: TBD

Work Shift: 7am-7pm or 10am-10pm based on needs PRN (as needed)

Job Summary:
The LPN Hospitalist Clinical Assistant is a professionally licensed practical nurse or medical assistant that assist in throughput and placement of patients admitted to the hospital medicine service.  Cohort patients to appropriate units and streamline patient list between providers.  The LPN Hospitalist Clinical Assistant works in a collaborative fashion with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure every patient receives comprehensive, timely and quality healthcare services.
 
Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of a board-certified nursing program required; current LA LPN licensure. Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience. Demonstrated ability in planning, organizing, and communicating. Ability to work with physicians and clinical support staff as part of a multi-disciplinary care team. Current BLS certification. Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to:  Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.  The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. Strong organizational and critical thinking skills are needed as well as the ability to work in teams. Must be able to work autonomously.

 
Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health.  Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.  Lifting at least 20 pounds is required.  Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Constant (67%-100%) - talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%)– reaching
Occasionally (1%-33%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping, crouching
