Job Description:
Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Long-term Intern to join our Information Systems Team based in Columbus, MS.
In this role, you’ll support Columbus, MS Information Management (IM)/Digital functions as related to service desk performance & Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), user outreach & training, SAFe PI-related activities, digital project workshops, and other Columbus industrial/digital programs, and digital transformation initiatives.

Your Working Environment:
On the eastern border of Mississippi you’ll find Columbus, home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. It’s here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.
Your Challenges:
Reduce number of SmartSheet Use Cases and transfer to approved Airbus Apps (i.e., Appsheets): 20%
Understand internal customer needs, problems, blocking points, which prevent them from migrating to GSuite.
Support and train users on new GSuite tools (main training materials provided)
Work with Airbus GSuite community to find workaround
Adapt existing processes to use GSuite instead of SmartSheets
Service Desk Performance and KPI Metrics/tracking: 25%
Using ServiceNOW, identify incidents that are problematic, and communicate to Site SRM
Produce ad-hoc reports and presentations; participate in mitigation discussions
Assist in New Helicopter Completions (NHC) MES rollout: 25%
Work with designated MES Phase IV NHC Project Manager
Work with MES Proximity L1.5 support technicians (training documentation)
Attend MES planning sessions as required
Additional Responsibilities:
Additional responsibilities as noted/directed by the Columbus Site IM SRM, including requirements gathering for proposed projects, attending planning meetings, and creating presentations for diverse audiences (technical and non-technical). Also conduct research on IM-related tools or peripherals for procurement purposes (such as supplies, etc).

Must be currently local to the Columbus, MS area as this is a long-term, onsite internship
Working towards a Bachelor’s degree and/or Masters in Information Systems, oriented in modern Collaboration tools such as Google, system’s administration, and network topography & best practices from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience
Authorized to Work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship
Must be a great teammate capable of balancing multiple simultaneous tasks, honoring committed deadlines and escalating when necessary to prevent late delivery
Understand IT language and requisites
Excellent U.S. English Written and Oral communication skills; requires the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with internal and external customers at all levels of personnel.
Ability to use computers and associated software
GSuite (Google sheets, Google docs, Google slides)
Preferred:
Previous internship experience / Google collaboration preferred
working in an international environment (Airbus is a multicultural company with Americans, Canadians and Europeans)
Capability to be autonomous in searching for solutions on the internet, expert websites, forums etc
Physical Requirements:
Onsite: 100 %
Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents and reports (daily).
Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone (daily) and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms (occasionally).
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications (daily).
Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment (daily).
Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs (daily).
Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs (daily).
Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment (occasionally).
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on a computer (daily).
Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving (occasionally).
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor (as needed).
Travel: No travel expected.
Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces (daily).
PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits; appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor (as needed).
Ability to work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship/work authorization is required for this position.
