Summary Job Description: The Logistics Coordinator/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing operational logistics and ensuring the efficient flow of materials on the second shift. This role involves both hands-on coordination and supervisory duties.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Logistics
Oversee operational logistics, coordinating transportation through couriers and interbranches
Maintaining all paperwork and dangerous goods documentation
Be directly involved in the efficient flow of cylinders while strictly maintaining scheduling and timing.
Execute evening shutdowns on site in the facility.
Truck Audits (Arrivals and Departures)
Manage all truck audits for both arriving and departing vehicles to ensure timely scheduling and documentation compliance.
Conduct truck audits on any returns via our trucks, as well as couriers and interbranches, working with the inventory coordinator on inventory reconciliation.
Specialty Gas Management
Create specialty gas (spec gas) shipments.
Maintain specialty gas inventory.
Initialize new specialty gas cylinders.
Prepare vendor shipments for the return of specialty gas.
Supervision
Provide on site supervision for the afternoon material handlers.
Required Qualifications
Professional experience in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations.
Knowledge of and experience coordinating transportation through couriers and interbranches.
Expertise in maintenance of paperwork and Dangerous Goods documentation.
Specific experience managing and reconciling Specialty Gas (spec gas) inventory, shipments, new cylinder initialization, and vendor returns.
Prior experience in auditing and ensuring documentation compliance for vehicle arrivals and departures (truck audits).
Experience in a supervisory capacity, providing on-site supervision for material handlers.
Preferred Qualifications
Time Management & Organization: Ability to strictly maintain scheduling and timing for the efficient flow of materials and cylinders.
Compliance & Detail Orientation: Diligence in managing documentation compliance and executing truck audits and inventory reconciliation.
Leadership: Capability to oversee and direct afternoon material handlers on site.
Operational Execution: Ability to perform hands-on duties, including inspection, packing of canisters, and executing evening shutdowns.
Process Improvement: Focus on efficiency improvement/automation consideration within logistics and warehouse operations.
