Logistics & Purchasing Intern (Year-Round)

About the role:

As a Purchasing & Logistics Intern, you will support logistics activities for the site, as well as tactical purchasing activities for high visibility projects.

We are looking for a year-round Purchasing & Logistics Intern who is available to start as soon as possible, working on a part-time basis pending class schedule, then full-time throughout the summer. Please note that this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the coordination and monitoring of inbound and outbound shipments, including domestic and international freight.

• Participate in the analysis of logistics data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost, and service.

• Learn and apply company logistics procedures, policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.

• Help prepare and maintain documentation related to shipping, receiving, and customs compliance.

• Assist in problem-solving and troubleshooting logistics-related issues.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the logistics department.

• Manage payments and financial responsibility for shipments

• Coordinate with suppliers on shortages/material needs.

• Support project team on order placement/reception

• Create status reports for ongoing activities

• Act as a liaison between suppliers and project team for escalations/change requests

• Assist on RFQ process for prototypes

• Support inventory management 

What You Should Have:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

• Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

• Basic understanding of logistics principles and supply chain concepts is a plus.
