WHAT YOU’LL DO

Support and assist the execution of transportation supply chain processes that meet and/or exceed customer expectations and division goals and objectives. This position is responsible for scheduling freight and planning daily tactical work associated with transportation. The scope includes scheduling and planning truckload (TL) shipments including from supplier to manufacturing sites, manufacturing sites to the warehouse, warehouse to warehouse deployment moves. This person will be working on the computer and phones to communicate with carriers and customer service. This position will require constant follow-up and attention to detail. Supporting activities include communication of carrier performance. This position will have exposure to both external and internal customers and will need to attain a high level of customer service across multiple verticals. You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures.

  • Proactive coordination of on-time delivery for all assigned plants.

  • Support the resolution situations that may jeopardize ARDx delivery performance and/or ability to meet customer PO must arrive by dates.

  • Support Logistics team with projects that meet division goals, customer service expectations, and cost requirements.

  • Must interact effectively with Third-Party Providers, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Operations, Finance, Operations, Carrier Operations, and Division Logistics teams.

  • Conduct business with the highest standards of ethical behavior and in compliance with company rules and procedures.

  • Utilization of SharePoint, Excel, and structured communication to schedule all freight modes.

  • Maintain routing guide compliance to achieve cost profile goals.

  • Proactive communication to internal cross-functional teams and external providers.

  • Track inventory movements to and from warehouse locations

  • Review Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) communications from shipping sites for accuracy and completeness.  Record details in tracking file maintained on SharePoint.

  • Create and manage orders to warehouse location for the transfer of inventory.

  • Manage and support transportation operational and procurement strategies while maintaining the cost profile and meeting Customer Service expectations.

  • Attend daily conference calls with warehouse teams to align on scheduling needs.

  • Attend carrier operational meetings to provide feedback on performance.

  • Review and provide feedback on carrier performance for sites managed.

  • Apply high attention to detail in maintaining multiple logistics tracking files to monitor freight movements and service provider cost/performance.

  • Identify and execute process improvement projects.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives facilitating changes needed to support customer fine reduction programs.

  • Documentation of Transportation Procedures in the Global Logistics Procedure SharePoint.

  • Support department with various projects and assignments as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelors Degree (± 1 years)

  • Minimum 1 year of transportation/logistics experience highly preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of Microsoft Office, including intermediate to advanced excel skills

  • Minimum 1 year of SAP and/or similar systems experience

  • APICS CSCP
