Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Logistics Engineer located onsite in Dulles VA. The Logistics Engineer will review field support requirements and recommends tool and test equipment. (This position is contingent on contact award)
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Establishes calibration requirements for field systems/equipment including all maintenance tasks. Performs maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers.
- Reviews handbooks for technical adequacy.
- Assists in the development of maintenance engineering and logistics support. This includes both proactive process improvements and reactive support for ongoing maintenance issues.
- Plans and contributes to proposal efforts.
- Establish standardized record-keeping practices using tools like Excel or inventory systems to ensure consistency.
- Stay engaged with customer sites, visit sites when available.
- Use defined communication channels and regular reports to update property status with the property manager.
- Track calibration equipment, HAZMAT inventory and update associated SDS’s, and safety equipment to include shelf-life data
- Assist property manager with annual inventories
- Accept and label equipment delivered from sub-vendor
- Assist with classified equipment disposal efforts
- Procure equipment in support of program requirements and going through the right authority within the program for justification and approval
- Communicates logistics requirements and updates to the customer and the PMO to support special access programs and identify, and dispose of outdated, end of life program equipment
- Generate DD 1348 turn in documents and turn in obsolete equipment at local defense logistics agencies
This position can be filled as a Principal Logistics Engineer (level 3) or Sr Principal Logistics Engineer (level 4) depending on years of experience and qualifications.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S / B.A Business, or Information, or Logistics Technology and Minimum of 5 years (level 3) or 8 years (level 4). (In lieu of a degree, additional years of experience and/or military experience may be considered).
- U.S. citizen
- Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI at time of application
- Knowledge and experience with AssetSmart generating IUID labeling, shipping equipment to customer sites, tracking return material authorizations, and understand the system readiness requirements.
- Well-organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team.
- Environment focused on satisfying the customer's mission.
- Should be a self-starter with the ability to learn quickly, prioritize tasking, and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work alone or in a small team in the field as required.
- Must be able to work at different elevations and lift a minimum of 40lbs.
- Willing an able to travel up to 15% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Agile 101 training and the control of government property for both unclassified and sensitive programs.
- Experience with DD1149 equipment transfer and shipping process
- Experience tracking shipments through commercial vendors and the military
- Inventory Management using AssetSmart
- DMSMS and integrated sustainment support knowledge
Primary Level Salary Range: $82,000.00 - $114,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,000.00 - $144,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
