Job Summary

The Logistics Coordinator performs the day-to-day logistics activities, acting as the liaison between client, carrier, and internal teams to resolve carrier, billing and/ or rate issues.

Job Responsibilities

Interact daily with assigned customers to deliver exceptional customer service through accurate order building and expediting, timely tendering of loads to LTL and TL and communication of exceptions, partnering with internal and external sources to resolve 
Manage daily execution of transportation needs, including tracking and scheduling shipments, load planning, and communication of status updates to internal departments and external customers 
Communicate with client, carrier, and internal teams to manage and resolve billing and/ or rate issues
Research and resolve basic carrier service issues, failures and delays; anticipate possible/probable changes and/ or problems and reallocate resources as necessary; escalate unresolved/ complex issues to appropriate team member or leader
Review customer shipment data, identify areas where cost efficiency may be improved; develop and recommend solutions to appropriate personnel
Perform additional relevant duties as assigned 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or other applicable discipline

Combination of experience and education may be substituted for degree.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 Minimum one (1) year relevant experience within the logistics industry; previous customer service preferred 
•    Exceptional computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel); experience using a Transportation Management System (TMS) preferred
•    Must have the ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, using detailed written reports and narratives, with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner
•    Ability to analyze qualitative data and interpret written materials to draw logical conclusion to make informed recommendations 
•    Ability to work in a fast paced environment using excellent organizational skills and precise attention to detail with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and efficiently resolve issues 
•    Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to typical risks of injury in an office environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
