Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Logistics & Compliance Coordinator to manage complex domestic and international shipments, including those for U.S. Navy customers. This role is responsible for coordinating transportation, ensuring compliance with hazardous materials regulations, and managing export shipping processes. The ideal candidate will have experience navigating regulatory requirements and working directly with customers and carriers to ensure timely and compliant delivery.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage end-to-end logistics for domestic and international shipments
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including hazardous materials shipping requirements (DOT, IATA, IMDG as applicable)
Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, export paperwork, and customs documentation
Manage export processes, including classification, documentation, and coordination with freight forwarders and customs brokers
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers (including U.S. Navy) regarding shipment planning, carrier coordination, and delivery schedules
Select and coordinate carriers to optimize cost, transit time, and reliability
Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, or compliance issues
Maintain accurate records for all shipments and ensure audit readiness
Collaborate with internal teams (operations, production, customer service) to align shipping schedules with customer requirements
Continuously improve logistics processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–5+ years of experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain operations
Experience with hazardous materials shipping regulations (DOT required; IATA/IMDG a plus)
Knowledge of export regulations and documentation (EAR/ITAR experience strongly preferred if applicable)
Experience coordinating international shipments and working with freight forwarders/customs brokers
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple complex shipments simultaneously
Excellent communication skills, with experience working directly with customers
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
