We are looking for a Logistics Analyst in our Energy Services group located in Sugar Land, TX.  This is an opportunity to join a large growing company offering a competitive base salary and benefits.

The Logistics Analyst manages various pricing, payment and cost accounting requirements for multiple functions and sites. Leads functional projects of high complexity. Provides analysis, forecast, audit, and reporting support to identify, recommend and implement cost saving alternatives and process improvements for existing operations. Supports new and emerging business growth and provides analysis necessary to formulate standard practices/procedures. Structured as a management growth position.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducts freight policy compliance reports and distributes results.  First point of contact for policy inquires. 
  • Identify and contact sales with bulk tank size and order qty. opportunities to improve freight cost and service.
  • Analyses and engages with carriers and internal teams to improve Delivery In Full, On-Time Rate (DIFOT) performance and reporting.
  • Performs analysis on routing compliance, adjusts controls, and identifies loss opportunities. 
  • Manages large databases which control transportation rates, services, contracts and invoicing.  Validates accuracy of data through testing procedures prior to distribution.
  • Identification and implementation of cost savings projects.
  • Conducts analysis of distribution network to determine optimal mode, carrier, and handling methods such as evaluation of pool distribution or rail to truck transloading.
  • Bulk returns reporting & analysis.  Tank level monitoring opportunity identification.
  • Manage urgent ad hoc and routine analytical requests to meet the needs of logistics management.
  • Maintains Subject Matter Expert role for Transportation Pricing systems.
  • Identify systemic issues and leads process improvements within the overall Freight Procure-to-Pay processes.
  • Works closely with Accounting/Finance stakeholders to monitor and resolve freight cost accruals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and 5+ years of previous work experience in logistics, transportation or operations OR
  • Associate's degree, and 9+ years of previous work experience in logistics, transportation or operations
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance or Transportation
  • Knowledge of freight rating, tariffs, classifications, and rate formulas
  • Proficient with computer applications used for shipping, electronic communications, parsing and copying data
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Prior experience using SAP and TMS applications
  • Outstanding written communication and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and to work in teams
