Locum Surgeon

VCA CAVES (Veterinary Care & Emergency Specialty) in New Hampshire is seeking an experienced Locum Surgeon to join our team on a temporary/relief basis the week of 6/15/26-6/19/26. We are a well-equipped specialty and emergency hospital dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to our patients and the communities we serve across New Hampshire and the surrounding region.

About the RoleWe are looking for a skilled surgeon comfortable performing both soft tissue and orthopedic procedures in a high-quality referral setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified or residency-trained surgeon seeking flexible work with a collaborative and supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures
• Work alongside our emergency and specialty medicine teams on complex and referred cases
• Communicate effectively with referring veterinarians, specialists, and pet owners
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records

Qualifications

• DACVS or equivalent board certification strongly preferred
• Residency-trained candidates will be considered
• Experience in a specialty or emergency referral hospital setting preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
