Amentum is seeking a mid-level industrial Lock Out-Tag Out Technician IV to join our facility operations & maintenance team in Waterloo, IA! This position is responsible for performing as a subject matter expert in establishing Lock Out-Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and guidance. Meets with the client to understand, set, and meet client goals. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Essential Functions:
- Understand and perform all aspects of Lock Out-Tag Out in providing world-class services to the client.
- Perform and thrive in a team environment.
- Identify all energy sources for machines and equipment and develop step‐by‐step procedures for safe shut‐down.
- Interface with customer, maintenance, health and safety and operators to gather information about their equipment.
- Develop and maintain written procedures, files, placards, and annual verifications for multiple buildings on an industrial campus.
- Prioritize work order requests for new/modified LOTO placards while maintaining constant customer and management communication to ensure needs are met.
- Audit and document facilities equipment and tests on an annual schedule to ensure consistency and compliance with local LOTO guidance.
- Properly document audit compliance and maintain accurate record of fix actions.
- Apply knowledge to develop, create and edit LOTO signage with use of CAD software.
- Work with client teams to develop and maintain hard copies of all procedures to be maintained at direct location of tests.
- Maintain OSHA compliance through LOTO management.
- Maintain database of all written procedures, inspections and products
- Archive previous versions of manuals and procedures and ensure they are properly stored and maintained.
- Deliver PowerPoint presentations to client detailing deliverables of LOTO program.
Minimum Requirements:
- Three years of experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial setting or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in effectively gathering information and crafting clear, concise communications, as well as fluency in common email programs and Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create spreadsheets, formulate with lookups and pivot tables, track data, generate reports, perform data mining, etc. Expertise with additional programs, such as CAD, Project and Visio is a plus.
- Must have the ability to work in an aerial life or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
- Experience in documenting safety procedures such as Lock Out-Tag Out
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
- This position may require a valid Driver’s License.

- This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
Physical/Special Requirements:
- Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
- Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
- Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
- Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
- Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
- Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
- Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
- Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
- Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
- Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite
periods of stress. - Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective
- Equipment as needed.
- Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so
that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a skilled trade related to industrial maintenance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Demonstrated experience developing metrics, data mining, and database.
management. - Experience as a member of a Safety Committee in an industrial, manufacturing, or
large research and development facility.
Compensation Details:
$29 -$32
