Position Summary:
The role of the Local Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials and products between Greenworks’ production and warehouse facilities. This position is critical to maintaining smooth production flow, ensuring materials are delivered on time, and supporting overall operational efficiency. The candidate will operate trucks and 53-foot trailers locally, maintain accurate delivery documentation, and coordinate with warehouse and production teams to support company operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate trucks and 53-foot trailers to transport materials and products between company facilities safely and efficiently.
- Load, secure, and unload materials while adhering to safety protocols and operational standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, transfer documentation, and material movement records.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse, production, and logistics teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Assist warehouse operations as needed, including staging, organizing, and moving inventory.
- Follow all company safety procedures, traffic regulations, and operational SOPs.
- Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Education and Experience:
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record is required, with experience operating large trucks and 53-foot trailers in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
- Proven ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials while maintaining compliance with safety standards and company SOPs.
- Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting, and basic vehicle maintenance awareness.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, with attention to detail and accountability for timely deliveries.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with warehouse, production, and logistics teams.
- Physically capable of performing lifting, pushing, pulling, and other warehouse or yard tasks up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, inventory handling, or material staging is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework or certification in logistics, transportation, or supply chain is a plus.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
