As a Cylinder Loader, you will contribute to the loading and unloading of high-pressure and liquid cylinders on/off trucks, while ensuring care for federal, state, and local regulations. You will also support the maintenance of all safety standards in the loading and unloading of cylinder gases per Airgas procedures.

  • Inspects cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards.

  • Develops expertise in risks associated with various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks.

  • Supports the maintenance of all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.

  • Ensures the smooth operation of a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.

  • Loads cylinders on/off vehicles, using hand truck or chain hoist, and records type and quantity of cylinders.

  • Loads/unloads cylinders on/off pallets; ensuring they are securely strapped in.

  • Examines returned cylinders for surface defects, dents, cracks, burns and performs minor maintenance of equipment and inspection of cylinders prior to filling.

  • Moves cylinders to designated work area using appropriate, safe work methods or equipment.

  • Identifies and segregates out-of-test cylinders and any defective cylinders.

  • Removes old labels and cleans cylinders.

  • Lends a hand to other missions as assigned to support the team.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ideally, you bring at least one year of experience in a manufacturing operation; filling or loading experience is a great plus.

  • Familiarity with the gas, welding, safety supply, or chemical industry is preferred.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to ensure team alignment.

  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets to maintain a safe workspace.

  • Ability to build connections with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.

  • Excellent service-oriented skills to support our customers and partners.

  • Self-directed with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • A thoughtful approach with a strong level of attention to detail.

  • Ability to perform foundational calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in all units of measure.

  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

  • We will look to you to safely operate a forklift and other specialized equipment.

  • Capability to navigate the facility (walking, sitting, reaching) and handle tools or controls with precision.

  • Specific vision abilities, including the ability to identify colors and depth to ensure operational accuracy.

  • Comfort with physical movement, including standing, bending, and reaching to support daily operations.

  • Heightened awareness to detect environmental cues, such as the smell or sound of leaking gas.

  • Capability to manage physical tasks, including regularly lifting up to 60 pounds and moving up to 800 pounds with the assistance of material handling equipment.

  • Minimal travel required.

  • Workspace environment: Our facility includes moving mechanical parts; we prioritize safety training to manage risks like electric shock.

  • Adaptability to environments: Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor settings across various seasonal weather conditions (ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees).

  • Work environment awareness: The setting may include consistent noise and odors typical of a high-performance industrial operation.
