As a Live Event Broadcast Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our operations, managing complex technical systems and coordinating seamlessly with teams to deliver exceptional live programming. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge broadcast technology while playing a vital role in bringing live events to viewers nationwide.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Coordinate with other engineers and master control; provide guidance for the execution of master control functions pertaining to live-event execution
Coordinate with the master control supervisor to train operators in operational best practices, issue resolution, and recovery of live events
Develop a deep knowledge of the operation's technical architecture and on-air systems
Resolve issues quickly and effectively to prevent on-air discrepancies
Manage the end-to-end execution of all live events, including preparation, in-event execution, and off-air adjustments
Actively participate in the operation's change control procedures by approving and maintaining awareness of all on-air maintenance and by managing critical components of maintenance operating procedures
Assume transmission responsibilities as needed, including monitoring of uplinks, booking, QCing (monitoring for quality control), and occasional remotes
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Associate's degree in a related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience
Generally, 2+ years of experience in the related field is preferred
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing scenarios is preferred
Thorough understanding of television production, broadcast engineering operations, and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements
Technological curiosity and an improvement-oriented approach
Unwavering composure in high-pressure situations
Demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding performance expectations preferred
Acute attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Willingness and availability to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, is required to support 24x7 operation
