Job Summary:

Provides expert legal counsel and strategic support on complex litigation and regulatory matters, representing the company before agencies and forums, delivering legal risk training, and advising business leaders to protect corporate interests.

Job Description:

  • Provide expert legal counsel and strategic support to safeguard the company’s interests, including representing the organization before regulatory agencies and administrative forums within Puerto Rico’s energy transmission and distribution sector. Develop and deliver specialized training programs to business partners to enhance legal risk awareness and compliance, while offering proactive guidance and solutions on complex legal and regulatory matters.

  • Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures.

  • Communicate with and manage relationships with third parties, including external counsel, government entities, and auditors.

  • Provides expertise in legal matters to support the development and implementation of effective solutions.

  • Monitors compliance and process effectiveness to ensure alignment with policies and continuous improvement.

  • Delivers training and guidance to stakeholders to enhance understanding and adoption of best practices.

  • Follows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.

  • Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services.

  • Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.

Additional Job Description:

Education

  • Juris Doctor and being admitted to the practice of Law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Experience

  • 5 years of progressive legal experience with responsibilities aligned to the functional role, including expertise in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support litigation,

  • Experience working with documents, policies, SOP creation and implementation.

  • Experience leading or collaborating with small projects.

  • Experience as matter-expert and asset resource to provide support to internal/external clients.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Bar Admission

  • Valid Driver License
