Position Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Manager, responsible for soiled linen chuting, collection, and pre-transportation requirements; clean linen and employee uniform sorting; stocking of carts, and distribution to all user areas. Available to support transport function of linen supplies and if necessary, operate transport vehicle.

Working Conditions:
Work involves standing, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds of Linen throughout the day. Position requires ability to frequently lift objects more than 50 lbs., perform simple manipulative and gross body coordination skills; walk, stand for prolonged periods; see object closely, far away and discriminate colors, and hear normal sounds with some background noises.
May be subject to unpleasant odors, heat, humidity, blood, body fluids and cleaning chemicals. Employee may constantly be exposed to blood, body tissues, fluids, high temperatures, sudden fluctuations in temperatures, dust and constantly exposed to humidity or wetness.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School graduate preferred.
Experience: One or more years laundry experience required.
Licensure: Valid State of Connecticut drivers license.
Skills: Ability to speak and understand English. Keep accurate records. Good telephone skills.
