Line Cook - NeueHouse Madison Square

Set within the historic 1913 Tepper Galleries building in the heart of the Flatiron District, NeueHouse Madison Square is more than a workspace—it is a cultural home for the world’s most innovative creators and thought leaders. As a Line Cook at NeueHouse Madison Square, you will be the engine behind an elevated culinary program that fuels this creative community.

Working out of our kitchen, you will support a diverse range of hospitality experiences, from sophisticated daily menus for our members to high-profile brand activations and immersive events. What You’ll Do:

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for the seamless execution of both refined à la carte restaurant service and diverse catering and banquet-style events. You will masterfully manage ticket flow, pacing, and station organization to ensure consistent, high-quality presentation across all dining formats.

• Service Excellence: Actively participate in daily food service, exemplifying excellence in portioning, cooking, and timing. You will transition fluidly between the fast-paced demands of live à la carte service and the organized complexity of banquet plating.
• Culinary Precision: Prepare and cook all menu items—ranging from individual plates to large-format event platters—strictly adhering to recipes to ensure every dish meets our visual and flavor standards.
• Catering & Event Mastery: Support the execution of catering orders for meetings and large-scale events. This includes meticulous prep, timely transport, and the precise assembly of banquet-style menus with a focus on punctuality and temperature control.
• Team Collaboration: Partner with fellow associates to ensure all kitchen duties, from daily mise en place to post-event breakdown, are completed efficiently within strict time constraints.
• Standard Bearer: Follow all NeueHouse steps of service and maintain rigorous standards for sanitation, organization, and food handling across both the restaurant line and event kitchens.

What We Look For: 

• Minimum 1 year Cook experience in a related role
• Strong cooking and knife skills required
• Positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments
• Ability to work well with others and have good communication skills
• Cheerful, presentable, and helpful when dealing with customers
• Flexible and long hours are sometimes required; rotating work schedule that may include nights and weekends
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time

Full Time Hourly Rate: $21.00/hour

This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
