LIMS Master Data Specialist

Avantor is looking for The GLS LIMS Master Data Specialist is responsible for maintaining Global Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) master data including customer and/or compendial specifications for GxP and lab grade products.

Works independently under close supervision, work closely with various departments to perform and validate test cases based on quality requirements, and recommend changes to predetermined quality guidelines. Responsible for ensuring that the end product meets the minimum quality standards, is fully functional and user-friendly. Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and provide accurate and comprehensive feedback to colleagues. Develop and execute test plans to ensure that all objectives are met.Implement and monitor test scripts to assess functionality, reliability, performance, and quality of the service or product. Identify and remedy defects within the production process.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creates, revises and maintains master data in LabVantage LIMS system, including but not limited to data related to LES, stability, parameters, parameter lists, test methods, specifications, sampling plans and products.
• Support and maintain instrument, consumable type, and other non-product related master data.
• Executes requested change management actions in QMS and LIMS.
• Supports new product master data creation within LIMS.
• Supports troubleshooting LIMS master data functional issues with management, IT, or service provider as necessary.
• Will support validation efforts for LIMS upgrades, enhancements and further site LIMS implementations.
• Updates and maintains procedures as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology or science related field required.
• Minimally 1 year of laboratory and infrastructure experience preferred.
• LIMS Master Data experience is required.
• Understanding of data flow requirements in LIMS systems.
• Foundational experience working with LabVantage LIMS.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Applied working knowledge of various laboratory instrumentation preferred.
• ​Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access), LabVantage LIMS, and ETQ.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
