Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities related to pool operations.
Opens or closes the pool each day according to scheduled hours.
Closely monitors activities related to the pool area.
Identifies safety issues or potential hazards to prevent accidents.
Responsible for public safety, water assists and rescues, first aid, and CPR when necessary.
Enforces the rules of the pool area, while providing excellent customer service to visitors.
Regularly tests chemical balances in the pool and notifies management of any changes needed.
Closely monitors weather reports to ensure guests remain safe.
Directs swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions.
Organizes and oversees pool special events.
Collect fees, when applicable.
Maintains a clean pool environment, including daily cleaning of pool, pool deck, and bathrooms.
Maintains EMS, rescue, and other equipment.
Ensures proper documentation of incidents and completion/submission of operational reports.
Collects and accounts for lost/found property and follows agency procedures on returning items.
Complies with standard operating procedures.
Lifeguard certification is required.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
CPR and First Aid certifications, including AED is preferred.
Scheduled hours will require flexibility, including holidays, weekends, or events, based on the needs of the agency.
All candidates tentatively selected for this position will be subject to a background check.
