JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for above ceiling inspections, to include identifying and repairing fire barrier penetrations, electrical deficiencies (missing cover boxes), fire alarm and fire sprinkler deficiencies, etc.  Documentation for completing inspections and repairs is required as well.  This position requires the individual to be knowledgeable and self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.  Perform work as assigned by Life Safety Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Proof of enrollment in or completion of a post-secondary or vocational program may also be accepted.  Healthcare experience preferred, or related field, competent in or knowledge of all aspects of commercial construction to include: fire wall construction, fire proofing installation, fire stop systems, and fire sprinkler requirements, fire alarm systems, etc.  Working knowledge of NFPA Codes and The Joint Commission Standards. NFPA 101 and NFPA 99 training preferred.

Must have a valid and current state issued driver’s license. Must maintain and provide proof of automobile insurance (at own expense) in amounts which meet at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of their residence. Clearance of driving record check. Driving records shall not contain any of the following within the past 3 years (see policy):

  • 3 or more moving violations

  • 2 or more accidents

  • 1 major violation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  
Must possess good physical health.  Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.  Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.  Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Constant (67%-100%) - NONE
Frequently (34%-66%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.) and balancing
Occasionally (1%-33%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
