Job Description
Position Summary
The Life Safety Technician maintains and manages the site’s Toxic Gas Monitoring (TGM) systems and associated detection devices, supporting safe semiconductor manufacturing operations. This includes coordination, inspection, testing, and maintenance of gas detection systems integrated throughout cleanrooms, sub‑fabs, and hazardous materials storage areas.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and manage the site TGM system and all associated detection devices.
Coordinate and support all work on CM4s, System 16, Seiger DigiCat, and other gas‑detection instrumentation.
Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate detection equipment, requiring solid electronic and mechanical aptitude.
Ensure proper parts, consumables, and materials are available through proactive planning and communication.
Support Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities when hazardous gas alarms or life‑safety events occur.
Understanding of chemical reaction technologies used in detection systems to validate performance and resolve issues.
Work effectively in semiconductor cleanroom environments while adhering to contamination‑control protocols.
Support compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NXP standards, and all semiconductor facility safety requirements.
Maintain accurate logs, inspection records, and regulatory documentation for audits and internal assessments.
Partner with engineering, facilities, and vendors to ensure system reliability, upgrades, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Minimum educational requirements are High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience with gas detection technologies and semiconductor TGM systems (preferred).
Ability to work in cleanroom and hazardous environments using proper PPE and safety methods.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Ability to support a 24/7 operational facility, including responding to urgent events.
