Position Summary
The Life Safety Systems Technician is responsible for supporting the daily operation and monitoring of life safety systems. This includes coordinating inspections, maintenance, and repairs with vendors to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local codes, as well as industry standards and company requirements. The position also involves supporting project design, conducting hazard assessments, investigating alarms, and maintaining documentation required for life safety operations.Role and Responsibilities
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Support daily planned & unplanned operation and monitoring of life safety systems including fire alarm, fire suppression, toxic gas monitoring and related systems.
Coordinate with approved vendors and contractors for inspection, testing, maintenance and repairs of life safety systems.
Interpret, apply and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local codes (IFC, IBC, NFPA, etc.), industry standards and company requirements.
Lead or support life safety design efforts in coordination with project teams and subcontractors.
Identify abnormalities, alarms and deficiencies and escalate per established protocols
Support hazard identification, risk assessments and mitigation strategies for life safety system performance and risk reduction.
Assist with audits, inspections, interface and documentation required for life safety operations.
Skills and Qualifications
Here's what you'll need:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Fire Protection, or related preferred, GED/High School Diploma required.
2+ years of experience in life safety, fire protection systems, industrial, semiconductor or mission-critical environments preferred.
Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements (federal/state/local codes).
Strong analytical, organizational and written communication skills.
Proven ability to lead design efforts, coordinate corrective maintenance activities and manage deadlines.

The current base salary range for this role is between $18.60 - $52.20/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
