Job Purpose:
Processes data by 1) collating, processing, and presenting data on and running/leading projects of low to medium complexity, 2) processing relevant data (including error analyses and corrections), 3) performing administrative duties that include being responsible for maintaining accurate and complete survey logs, 4) performing quality control/assurance checks on collated data and feature data for delivery to clients if required, 5) recognizing opportunities for process improvement, 6) recommending changes to existing workflows and, 7) communicating needs to software developers. Requires expertise in discipline applicable data processing/GIS software and keeps up to date on the latest revisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lidar Specialist is responsible to help build Setu’s technical expertise to onboard and execute new projects with required quality standards. S/he is responsible to conduct pilot projects, understand and define technical requirement. S/he should detail-oriented, be a team player and should contribute to the growth and expansion of Setu’s data processing services.

  • Lead and deliver pilot projects with expected quality output.

  • Ensure on-time project deliveries as per agreed quality and within scope and budget.

  • Perform classification, feature extraction, and mapping using LIDAR & Image data.

  • Groom technical expertise of the team leads & QA/QC operators.

  • Work collaboratively with the training team and implement best practices.

  • Onboard technical Geo-Data based projects.

  •  Detailed oriented with the focus on maximizing production while maintaining quality.

  • Collaborate with innovation team on technical issues. Strategize project planning and execution.

  • Assist in cost estimation and resource planning.

  • Identify and suggest best and cost-effective software and systems to maximize utilization and productivity.

  • Assess software and system requirements based on project specifications. Suggest ideas & contribute to implementation of project improvements. Identify project risks and highlight them proactively.

  • Must be well-versed with new technologies, software, hardware, methodologies related to LIDAR & Image data process.

  • Detailed oriented with the focus on maximizing production while maintaining quality.

Required Experience & Skills:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Geoinformatics or related discipline
• 3-8 years
• Minimum 3 – 5 years' experience in the production environment.

Mandatory experience - powerline classification, advance classification using Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS) Data and (MLS) Mobile Leaser Scanning & GIS software tools like, Micro-station, Terra Solid, Arc GIS Pro, QGIS, Global Mapper, AutoCAD, LAS Tools or other similar 3D mapping software packages
• Ability to read, understand and apply technical information, form procedure manuals, written and verbal instruction, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsible for ensuring safety of self and others at site. Prevent damage of equipment and assets Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse any to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his work place. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe To be able to operate fire extinguisher in case of fire To report an incident as soon as possible to immediate supervisor and HSE manager To complete HSE trainings as instructed to do so.
