Supports the employee health program and performs delegated tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Involved in planning and follow up of employees post exposure, new employee onboarding activities, initial and annual respirator fit testing, employee immunization program, sharps and blood borne pathogen exposure prevention activities, and other duties as assigned.

Administers vaccinations, orders lab work, and orders imaging per standing delegation order.
Maintains employee health records and performs data entry/ office duties.
Facilitates the employee check in process for the employee health department and directs flow as appropriate.
Performs TB testing and TB testing interpretation per Employee Health Standing Delegation Orders.
Directly involved in planning/follow up post employee TB exposure events.
Performs respirator fit testing and educates employees on the risk of transmission and appropriate exposure precautions for communicable diseases.
Facilitates hand hygiene education for new employees at onboarding.
Serves on Committees as requested.
Collaborates with Human Resources and Infection Control concerning general infection control
issues, injured worker documentation and Americans with Disability (ADA) accommodations.
Provides appropriate feedback to supervisor on departmental operations.
Provides appropriate statistical data to Texas Department of Health in a timely manner.
Performs other related duties as required.

Education and Experience:

-Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
-Valid Texas LVN License/Eligible Compact License
-Must maintain a current BLS & certification from American Heart Association
-Minimum of 5 years of LVN experience
-Outpatient clinic nursing, occupational health or infection prevention nursing is desired.

Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of nursing practice. Ability to maintain ongoing employee health records, prepare statistical reports, maintain electronic health records, and experience in Microsoft office software. Must be able to work well with others and communicate effectively in writing as well as verbally. Must be able to work without close supervision. Computer skills are an important aspect of the position. Requires good organizational skills. Possesses the ability to adapt to changes in workload and demonstrates flexibility when faced with interruption.
