JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic offers a variety of services to post 9/11 Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, Reservists, National Guard and their family members.  The Outreach Director will be responsible for managing and executing the clinic’s rural outreach strategy and developing the referral pipeline, focused on recruiting post 9/11 veterans and their families in the community. Focus on recruitment of clients to the Military Family Clinic through outreach to community partners including veteran-service organizations, multi-service organizations, the Veterans Administration, and other community partners across the state of Georgia. The Outreach Director will increase visibility of available services and connect individuals to care.  The Outreach Director will also participate in peer-to-peer communication, presentations, and other outreach mediums to strengthen relationships and improve access to care.  Recruitment will focus on reaching Veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and their family members. The Outreach Director will work alongside the Clinic Director, will plan, implement and sustain outreach efforts and strategies to assist in achieving enrollment goals.  The Outreach Director may carry a small clinical caseload, will engage in training opportunities around trauma and Post Traumatic stress and will work toward providing individual, couples and family therapy, with an emphasis on delivering evidenced-based care. 
 

Overnight travel is required for this role to support outreach, relationship-building, and community engagement across rural and military-connected areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop strategy for outreach to raise the visibility of the clinic and clinical care for military and veterans across the state of Georgia.
  • Conduct outreach meetings with potential referral sources to establish new partnerships.  Facilitate weekly recruitment and outreach meetings.
  • Develop a network of trusted contacts within organizations in which to refer and coordinate care.
  • Continually track progress at rural outreach and report outreach activities and progress to the Clinic Director. Collaborate with clinical personnel to continuously improve outreach process.
  • Manage advertising and outreach budgets oversee advertising strategy.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively via oral or written means. Must be able to present a friendly and positive demeanor to community partners and the general public.
  • Conduct presentations.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Publisher, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently, manage work priorities and to evaluate and create solutions to work-related problems.
  • Ability to identify and implement short and long-term projects independently. Requires good time management practices and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of outreach and marketing strategies.
  • Strong conflict-resolution and leadership skills.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Preforms and documents patient screenings, psychological assessments, and progress.
  • Conducts clinical intake assessments on veterans and family members as needed.
  • Provides Initial, couples, groups, and family psychotherapy to clients with a focus on delivering evidence-based treatments under supervision of clinical supervisor.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with clinic director, lead clinician and clinical supervisor to provide best possible care to patients as needed.
  • Attend weekly clinical, supervision, and administrative meetings as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Outgoing, pleasant, professional manner; the ability to create and maintain contacts in the community; and clearly articulate mission and goals of the Military Family Clinic.
  • Knowledge in DSM-V diagnoses is required.
  • Experience across a range of modalities beyond individual adult treatment to include child, couples, and family treatment is preferred.
  • Experience working with a military or veteran population to include cultural competence is preferred.
  • Experience treating and diagnosing depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship/family issues, and substance use disorders is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, ability to work independently, and reliable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level              

Master’s degree in social work and ability to obtain and maintain license to independently practice as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT or Psychologist in Georgia. 

Years of Experience       

  • 3+ years’ clinical experience in behavioral healthcare required.
  • 2+ years in outreach and marketing activities required.
  • Prior experience in recruitment within the military community and/or veteran administrative organizations required. Business management skills are preferred.
  • Experience working with adults, children, couples, and families is required.
  • Experience in PTSD diagnosis and treatment is required.
  • Military background is strongly preferred.

Certification/Licensure 

Ability to be a TRICARE certified mental health counselor (TCMHC) is required. Certification or documented proficiency in one or more of the following Evidenced Based Practices is preferred: Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.

$67,610.00--$101,430.00
