At Berklee, your work directly supports the next generation of creative leaders.

About the Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Counseling & Advocacy Services, you will provide essential mental health support to a diverse student body. This role balances direct clinical care with innovative community outreach and psycho-educational programming, ensuring our students have the emotional resources they need to excel in their creative pursuits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and provide referrals to community providers for longer-term care or psychiatric evaluation.
  • Develop and lead community mental health initiatives specifically tailored to various student populations.
  • Participate in the on-call clinician rotation to provide vital crisis intervention services.
  • Provide clinical supervision to interns and consultation to faculty, staff, and student leaders.
  • Serve as a consultant for post-hospitalization discharge planning and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Wellness team on outreach services and programming.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for a clinician with strong clinical skills and a deep commitment to multicultural excellence and inclusive care.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience providing counseling services, especially culturally relevant, community-based interventions.
  • Strong skills in psychological assessment, individual therapy, and group counseling.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with multicultural and diverse student populations.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and knowledge of student development theories.

  • Bonus points: Board Certification in Music Therapy or experience working with musicians, dancers, and actors is highly preferred.

Special Working Conditions:

Some evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required. While not prohibited, applicants should carefully consider these expectations before beginning or maintaining a private practice, or accepting/maintaining other part-time employment before accepting an offer of employment at Berklee.
