Required Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's Degree;
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the provision of assistance and/or instruction in a library or educational setting.
Job Duties and/or Responsibilities:
Work a regular schedule of Sunday-Thursday (1:00 pm - 10:00 pm);
Follow established procedures and secure materials and money; Monitor building conditions and library security, report problems and work with library administration, facilities, and public safety personnel as needed;
Provide excellent customer service to library users at the library's main desk, approximately 20-30 hours per week with additional time as needed;
Provide research and technology assistance to students in-person and virtually (phone, email, chat, and SMS);
Support the circulation of library materials and technology to library users;
Receive and distribute mail deliveries;
Maintain an organized workspace at the circulation desk;
Supervise student employees, providing training and direction;
Oversee shelving and stacks management;
Support the collection of data, and participate in service assessment and continuous improvement;
Assist Technical Services Coordinator with updating and replacing library materials;
Assist in preparing materials for deposit in the institutional repository;
Assist Circulation Coordinator with library inventory duties, including locating missing books;
Assist Circulation Coordinator with updating policies and signage in the library;
Build partnerships and relationships among others in the university community;
Open or close the library and work nights and weekends as needed;
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong customer service skills are essential;
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, move book carts, and lift up to 20 pounds;
Ability to work in a team environment;
Demonstrated Flexibility and reliability in performance of job duties;
Good communication and interpersonal skills;
Commitment and ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a collegial environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of library collections management, services, and technology;
Familiarity with integrated library systems, particularly OCLC WMS;
Knowledge of research methods and library resources;
Experience with computer technology and troubleshooting;
