POSITION SPECIFICS
A Library Services Associate is sought to join Penn State Abington to provide first point of contact support, contribute to the daily operations of the library, and serve as the morning opener.
Customer service is essential in this role as the Library Services Associate will provide front-line service and support to our student body, faculty, staff, and community borrowers.
They will assist library users with common borrowing, information, and technological needs. This position will also assist with backend services around interlibrary loan and office support.
Other key responsibilities of the Library Services Associate include:
Perform interlibrary loan and circulation functions, including tracking, delivery coordination, and resolving account issues.
Manage circulating technology by troubleshooting hardware/software issues, coordinating with IT teams, and maintaining equipment security and updates.
Oversee library space and perform opening duties.
Monitor and replenish operational supplies; assist with budget coordination and purchasing processes.
Perform circulation desk duties, assist patrons with general inquiries, and refer research or reference questions to librarians as appropriate.
Work collaboratively with University Libraries and Penn State Abington colleagues and departments.
May represent the library and the campus by participating in committees and other initiatives.
The Library Services Associate will work both independently and collaboratively when completing this position’s responsibilities and provide back-up support to others on their team. As part of a team, all staff in the library are cross trained to complete duties in other areas as needed.
The typical hours of this position will be 8:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. Days and hours are subject to change according to library usage patterns and departmental needs (e.g., during recognized holiday periods, in the summer).

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
If filled as Library Services Associate - Senior Support, this position requires: Associate Degree 4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None If filled as Library Services Associate - Intermediate Support, this position requires: General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS) 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $34,800.00 - $55,500.00.
