We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.
Personnel Management
Manage a team of around 4-5 instrument technicians, completing annual reviews and goal setting tasks;
Establish training matrices in conjunction with the Instrument CTE group, suppliers and LI NAM training to ensure appropriate development of instrument technicians across LI NAM;
Play a prominent role in the development of career path and progression requirements for Instrument technicians in LI NAM;
Assign resources to TAR and Day to Day maintenance duties as required;
Work with the Maintenance Coordinators if needed to ensure that the plant I&E resources for Day to Day activities are planned per the T-7 week process, assisting with the maintenance organization if needed;
Responsible for adhering to the Work Management process to plan and schedule the technicians;
Analyze KPIs to evaluate and improve schedule performance;
Identify job resources (materials and labor) availability for Turnarounds and Day to Day Maintenance;
Close collaboration with peers leading TAR maintenance centers, Planning and Scheduling, Control Systems as well as Electrical;
Technical
Standardize instrumentation technology throughout LI NAM;
Collaborate with Instrument CTE’s to align on technology changes and improvements;
Partake & lead instrument related incident investigations;
Responsible for adhering and leading the Work Management process for Instrument technicians. Reporting to management on a monthly basis on the progress with work management and the improvement opportunities;
Attend and contribute to all Turnaround planning meetings and Turnaround sidebar meetings to standardize instrumentation applications, assign resources and define schedules;
Promote the effort to populate preventative maintenance (PM’s) and building and job plans in Maximo;
Ensure that completed PM’s and corrective maintenance (CM) Work Order documentation is updated in Maximo;
Promote maintenance activities within the Plant personnel;
Turnaround work to be executed within time planned;
After an incident, partake in the investigation and assist with RCAs as needed;
Work across the entire LI NAM fleet to ensure consistency in I&E work and implementation of best practices.
Procurement involvement and Cost Control
Interface with Procurement for timely issuance of PO’s on all instrumentation orders and requests;
Work with Procurement to ensure that the appropriate supplier and contractor feedback is timely and accurate to ensure we are getting what we pay for;
Track supplier performance and align with Procurement on preferred instrumentation vendors;
Track and measure the actual costs for instrument replacement and maintenance plans, ensuring that it remains within/under the allocated budget.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred.
15+ years I&E field experience with a primary focus on Instrumentation.
Extensive use and understanding of the LI NAM CMMS (Maximo) system.
Experience in building detailed job plans.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent Project management skills .
Strong computer skills, proficient in Excel, Google Suite, MS Project, P6, or demonstrate the ability to learn quickly.
Self-motivated with ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Team building and leadership skills .
Ability to work long hours, climb ladders and lift 50 pounds.
Eligible and able to enter confined spaces for inspections.
Available 24/7 with frequent travel.
