FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

KTTV Fox 11 & KCOP Fox 11 Plus is seeking a skilled and creative News Photographer. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for capturing compelling visuals that enhance storytelling and engage our audience. Responsible for shooting and editing video footage for news broadcasts using Panasonic and Sony cameras, as well as digital microvans. The photographer will work closely with reporters and producers and must be able to manage time efficiently to edit and submit stories and/or live shots in time to make pre-assigned news slots.

 

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ minimum experience as a General Assignment News Photographer on a regularly scheduled newscast.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Strong understanding of video composition, lighting, and audio capture
  • Proficient in linear and non-linear editing systems (ex: Grass Valley Edius, Adobe Premiere).
  • Must be able to shoot, edit and operate microvans under pressure while meeting deadlines for live newscasts.
  • Must understand bonded cellular transmission using portable packs (LiveU, Dejero), V-set KA satellite and Starlink.
  • Must be able to carry up to 55 lbs. of camera equipment over various conditions
  • Must have a valid CA driver license.
  • Must be willing to travel/drive to various locations in and around greater Los Angeles to cover breaking news, events and features.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $56.13 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
