GWAM Legal – Summer Intern Overview
Role Purpose
The Summer Intern will support the US WAM Legal team with substantive operational, and innovation-focused work. The intern will work closely with the Chief of Staff, and other senior legal leaders, gaining exposure to global asset management legal issues across multiple jurisdictions while contributing to priorities around legal operations and AI-enabled solutions.
Core Areas of Responsibility
1. Legal Operations & Workflow Mapping (AI-Focused)
Partner with you and GWAM Legal teams to map existing legal workflows (e.g., contract review, regulatory intake, matter management).
Identify process inefficiencies and automation opportunities, with a focus on responsible AI use in legal.
Support early-stage AI solution exploration, including:
Document intake and triage
Knowledge management and precedent organization
Regulatory and compliance tracking
Prepare workflow diagrams, issue inventories, and recommendation summaries for legal leadership.
2. Legal Leadership & Strategic Support
Work directly with GWAM Legal leadership on initiatives, including:
Program development
Sit in on selected meetings to understand how legal advice supports investment, operational, and strategic decisions.
3. Broader Legal Department Support
Provide ad hoc support on matters which may include:
Vendor or technology-related legal reviews
Internal stakeholder requests
Process documentation and playbooks
Assist with administrative or coordination tasks tied to larger legal initiatives, offering a holistic view of how the department operates.
