Legal Operations Analyst

Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human-level intelligence. Our robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA and requires 5 days/week of in-office collaboration

Figure’s vision is to deploy autonomous humanoids at a global scale. We are looking for a highly motivated Legal Operations Analyst to join our team. This individual will be the architect of our legal infrastructure, responsible for building the systems that allow our Legal department to scale alongside our engineering breakthroughs.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented who can operationalize our legal department and excel at transforming manual processes into automated, reliable systems that support Figure’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): Act as the primary administrator for Ironclad. Design, build, and maintain automated workflows and operationalize legal playbooks for the efficient review, negotiation, and execution of all NDAs, vendor, and commercial agreements.
  • Legal Intake & Process Optimization: Act as the primary gatekeeper for the legal department, utilizing Jira to organize and triage incoming requests from all teams, and identifying and eliminating bottlenecks in the legal lifecycle. 
  • Legal Document Architecture: Operationalize the organization and retention of all legal documents, ensuring the corporate repository is structured, searchable, and audit-ready. 
  • Signature & Execution Oversight: Manage the DocuSign environment, including template creation, user permissions, and integration with the broader legal tech stack.
  • Equity Management System (Carta): Administer and maintain the company's equity management platform (Carta) to ensure accurate cap table management, grant issuance, and compliance with equity-related protocols.
  • Legal Compliance & Reporting: Assist with internal and external compliance matters, including monitoring regulatory changes, developing internal controls, and supporting necessary legal filings and reporting.
  • Vendor & Financial Management: Assist with onboarding outside counsel and tracking legal spend against budgets, ensuring high visibility into department resources.
  • Cross-Functional Systems Integration: Partner with Finance, IT, and Supply Chain to ensure the legal tech stack integrates effectively with company-wide ERP and CRM tools.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in legal operations, contracts management, or project management at a law firm or start-up.
  • Legal Technology & Systems: Advanced proficiency as an Ironclad administrator (Workflow Designer) and DocuSign power user, with experience managing equity platforms (Carta) and ensuring tech stack integration with ERP/CRM tools. Confidence using modern tools and systems (e.g., Generative AI, CLM tools, Asana, Slack, Notion) to amplify impact. 
  • Process & Document Management: Proven rigor in managing, organizing, and operationalizing complex legal documentation (repository architecture) and legal intake processes (Jira) with extreme attention to detail.
  • Agility: Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-moving, rapidly evolving robotics environment.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to work collaboratively and professionally with diverse teams.
  • Collaboration: A commitment to 5 days/week in-office collaboration, inclusivity, respect, and ethical decision-making.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Paralegal certifications and experience
  • Prior experience in a start-up or a manufacturing/hardware-focused environment.
  • Background in managing commercial contract and corporate governance workflows.

Compensation

The US annual salary range for this position is between $120,000 - $160,000

The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits (including equity) depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
