Position Purpose:

The Manager - Legal Litigation shall provide assistance in connection with employee grievances, compliance with labor requirements and litigation. The role shall represent the Company in judicial and agency proceedings.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on labor law matters, employee relations, and compliance with DOLE regulations.
  • Assist in managing the Company’s employee disciplinary process and grievance procedure, including, but not limited to, the preparation of notice to explain, conducting of administrative hearing and preparation of notice of decision;
  • Manage disputes, potential litigation, and actual litigation, including labor disputes, contractual disputes, and other legal conflicts, on behalf of the company.
  • Ensure company policies comply with Philippine labor laws and other applicable laws.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel when necessary.
  • Provide in-house handling of routine litigations & represent the company in court proceedings, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations before courts, quasi-judicial bodies or administrative agencies;
  • Proactively address dispute risks based on an in-depth understanding of company operations, policies, and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including management, human resources, and other departments, to address legal issues and develop effective strategies for dispute resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategy and decision-making.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings as well as employment related documents.
  • Assist in providing training and guidance to employees to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures;
  • Partner with HR and Legal teams in evaluating risk factors and developing strategies affecting business decisions and operations;
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with corporate policies and applicable laws, rules and regulations;
  • Manage responses to internal and external request for information and documents;
  • Maintain and manage Legal Litigation database;
  • Perform other legal functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Juris Doctor Degree and qualified to practice law with updated IBP Membership dues, PTR and MCLE.
  • atleast 5 year experience in litigation specifically in labor and criminal litigation.
  • Strong understanding of Philippine labor laws and regulations.
  • Experience with NLRC/DOLE and court procedures.
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid setup subject to existing Company policies
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Seasoned with drafting and reviewing various types of contracts
  • Comfortable in liaising with internal and external stakeholder
  • Risk analysis, appreciation, prioritization, and legal management.
  • Technologically proficient with software applications such as SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with a high volume of assignments
  • Sound judgment and experience handling sensitive and confidential matters
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, commitment to client service, and the ability to build internal and external relationships.
