Legal Counsel

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our APAC Legal Team, supporting the delivery of high‑quality, commercially focused legal services across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer looking to broaden their in‑house experience, work closely with senior stakeholders, and contribute to major infrastructure and energy projects.

The ideal candidate will have solid commercial and/or infrastructure experience, strong drafting skills, and the ability to provide practical legal advice that supports business objectives. Experience with joint ventures, alliances, renewable energy, intellectual property, and data protection will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Advisory & Contract Support

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements including supply terms, service agreements, subcontracts, MOUs, and framework agreements.

  • Assist with legal review of tender submissions, risk assessments, and commercial proposals.

  • Support the business with general commercial queries relating to leases, software agreements, IP licensing, and confidentiality obligations.

Dispute Resolution & Risk Management

  • Support the Senior Legal Counsel in managing disputes and early resolution strategies.

  • Assist with coordinating external counsel, tracking legal costs, and preparing internal updates.

Collaborative Business Partnering

  • Act as a trusted advisor to operational teams, providing timely and pragmatic legal advice.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the APAC Legal Team and the wider global Legal Team.

  • Contribute to legal process improvement, knowledge sharing, and initiatives designed to increase efficiency.

Regulatory & Compliance Support

  • Monitor relevant regulatory and legislative developments and support the business in understanding implications.

  • Assist in delivering training on legal and compliance topics, including contract risk, data protection, and IP management.

Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Qualified solicitor with 6-8 years PQE, gained in private practice or in‑house.

  • Strong grounding in commercial law with experience drafting and negotiating contracts.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Practical, solutions-oriented approach and strong commercial judgment.

  • Collaborative team player who can build effective relationships and maintain credibility across the business.

Desirable

  • Experience in infrastructure, renewable energy, or major projects.

  • Exposure to joint ventures, alliances, or complex commercial structures.

  • Familiarity with intellectual property, data protection, or technology agreements.

  • Prior in‑house experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel domestically when required.

  • Successful completion of background checks.

  • Ability to work from the office at least three days per week.
