RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing timely and efficient legal support to assigned Evonik entities and operational units in Greater China in respect of a variety of legal topics (corporate matters, daily commercial, compliance, etc.).
- Maintaining a close working relationship with assigned entities and operational units, understanding key issues (legal and others) affecting the business, providing legal as well as tactical consultancy with regards to company’s business operation in Greater China.
- Identifying legal or regulatory risks and challenges and presenting proactive and effective solutions.
- Communicating and working with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), as required to solve various legal issues.
- Closely collaborating and working with other departments in region and corporate functions in an effective way.
- Conducting legal reporting and contracts filing in a timely and proactive manner.
- Developing corporate policies and guidelines in China relevant to Legal Greater China and working as a backup for chop management.
- Regularly monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor degree in Chinese law and admission to Chinese Bar; Master degree a plus.
- Around 5 years professional experience with multinational companies and/or reputable international/Chinese law firms.
- Solid legal knowledge and experience in major legal fields (corporate law, foreign investment, commercial law, etc.).
- Basic business sense and interests to approach issues from both legal and business perspectives.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, good adaptability and time-management skills.
- Self-motivation, self-disciplined, strong team-working spirit.
- Proficient English listening, speaking and writing skill.
- PC-based document production skills in Chinese and English language (Microsoft office) and interest in digitalization, digital filing.
