A little bit about our team:

The Legal and Business Affairs department is a close-knit team of lawyers and paralegals who work closely with Warner Music UK’s frontline labels, catalogue division and distribution business to negotiate, draft and manage a wide range of agreements with artists and third parties to ensure necessary rights and clearances are in place for product releases and the other activities of our artists.


Your role:
This role supports the Director, Legal and Business Affairs, ADA in the negotiation, drafting and management of distribution agreements arising from ADA’s activities in the UK, and is responsible for the related administration processes

Here you’ll get to:

  • You will support in the negotiation, drafting and management of distribution agreements for independent record labels and artists
  • You will prepare and circulate accurate contract summaries
  • You will be responsible for maintaining deals and rights trackers
  • You will manage the input and maintenance of ADA UK agreements and data in the relevant internal systems
  • You will respond to rights queries from ADA and other departments and provide other general legal and business affairs support as required
     

About you:

  • You have at least 1 year of experience working as a paralegal within an in-house music company (or similar industry) or in a relevant team in a private practice law firm
  • You have a minimum of a 2:1 degree (LLB or other undergraduate degree with law conversion)
  • You have a sound understanding of intellectual property law (in particular copyright)
  • You have excellent attention to detail
  • You are a clear and confident communicator
  • You enjoy building relationships with the business and colleagues


We’d love it if you also had:

  • You have passed the LPC or are studying for the SQE or similar level legal qualification
  • You have experience drafting and negotiating music industry agreements
  • You have a passion for the music industry
