What does your job look like as a corporate lawyer for insurance distribution & mortgage loans?

As a corporate lawyer, you will join a warm and close-knit team of 7 lawyers with strong expertise and experience. You are the legal point of contact for the distribution of life insurance and mortgage loans. Our legal department works transversally, which means that in addition to your core areas, you will be exposed to a wide range of legal topics within the organisation. Ideal for those who enjoy variety and broad development.
You support various teams within your domain, monitor legislation, review contracts related to your areas of expertise, and represent NN in sector committees.
Your core responsibilities
You monitor legislation and regulations regarding:
distribution of life insurance for retail clients via brokers and banking partners
distribution of mortgage loans (in collaboration with an external partner)
marketing & advertising for these products.
You draft distribution agreements and review contracts with brokers and banking partners.
You act as a support and sparring partner for teams such as Product Development, Sales, Customer & Broker Service, Marketing and Compliance.
You verify whether policies and procedures relating to distribution (PCP and VVD) are correctly followed.
You respond to ad hoc legal questions from management and other departments within our organisation.
You represent NN in the sector:
Distribution Committee – Assuralia
Mortgage Loans Committee – Febelfin
You provide training to employees and distributors on legislation in the field of life insurance distribution and mortgage loans.
This is how you fit perfectly into our team
Master of Law and at least 3 years of experience in a legal role within the financial sector (lawyer, consultant, corporate lawyer…) or strong affinity with the insurance sector.
Experience with the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) is required.
Excellent command of Dutch and French, good command of English.
You are eager to learn and want to deeply understand the insurance sector and its business models.
You work in a structured manner, can create clear summaries and have a strong sense of discretion.
You are solution-oriented, results-driven, pragmatic and take initiative.
You can quickly adapt to changing situations.
You are open to taking on other tasks when needed.
