As a Legal Administration Assistant, you’ll provide comprehensive administrative support to our Nominal Insurer Legal team, including Legal Specialists & Statutory Disputes team. The role involves managing competing priorities, prioritising tasks effectively and contributing to the continuous improvement of the legal advisory and statutory dispute model within legal.

This will be a permanent, full time position based in the Sydney, Gosford or Newcastle offices with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week once fully trained.
 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with the web-based service application, The Legal Panel Gateway (LPG), the use of which is essential to the management of instructions, documentation and communication with legal providers across EML on behalf of icare.

  • Liaise with claims teams with regards to creating engagements of matters on the LPG which includes collating claim files, list of payments and file notes from GWCC and ensuring external legal providers properly receive notification of legal referrals, full claims files and legal documentation.

  • Monitor the LPG to receive and action, in a timely manner, documentation and requests lodged on the LPG by the legal provider, ensuring key dates are diarised and all relevant documentation uploaded to the GWCC claims file and brought to the attention of the relevant EML claims and legal personnel.

  • Diary management to ensure all key timeframes for requesting, filing pleadings or responses are diarised, allocated and met.

  • Review and maintain spreadsheets and reports to capture active litigation managed by the legal team.

ABOUT YOU

  • Excellent time management and prioritising skills.

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite products including advanced skill level of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to participate in training and personal development.

  • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of the Legal team.

  • Knowledge of the LPG desirable, but not essential.
