The Department of Finance and Business Analytics in the Neidorff School of Business at Trinity University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Finance position, beginning August 10, 2026. This is a renewable, non-tenure-track appointment with an initial three-year term.

The Department of Finance and Business Analytics offers two undergraduate majors—Finance and Business Analytics—and is home to 12 dedicated faculty committed to teaching excellence and student success. The Finance group, a close-knit team of five faculty supporting about 90 majors, delivers a rigorous and applied curriculum grounded in the liberal arts tradition. Students gain hands-on experience through the Student Managed Fund, Bloomberg Lab, and national competitions that connect classroom learning to real-world finance. The Student Managed Fund is one of the largest undergraduate funds in the nation, currently managing a portfolio of $ 16 million. The department fosters a collaborative, student-centered environment that emphasizes teaching innovation, student career readiness, and the integration of finance and analytics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching (Primary Responsibility)
Primarily teach Corporate Finance, the introductory finance course required of all business majors.
Develop and update course materials to ensure relevance, rigor, and alignment with departmental learning goals.
Use active learning, experiential, and technology-enhanced teaching approaches to engage undergraduate students, primarily sophomores.
Coordinate with other faculty members to ensure consistency and quality across multiple sections of the course.
Hold regular office hours and provide academic support to students.
Provide academic advising to students regarding course selection and progression in the finance curriculum.
Student Professional Development
Significantly contribute to the department’s existing student professional development programming, including workshops, networking events, and career preparation activities.
Advise and mentor students on career paths, internships, and professional certifications in finance.
Collaborate with colleagues and university partners (e.g., Career Services, Alumni Relations) to design and deliver initiatives that enhance students’ professional readiness and career outcomes.
Help create new opportunities that connect classroom learning with career exploration in finance and related fields.
Department and School Service
Participate in departmental and school meetings and discussions related to curriculum development and student success.
Support departmental initiatives such as major declaration events, open houses, and student recruitment activities.
Contribute to creating a collegial, student-centered environment within the Department of Finance and Business Analytics and the Neidorff School of Business.
Professional Growth
Maintain currency in the field of finance and finance education through ongoing professional development, industry engagement, or relevant certifications, for AACSB accreditation purposes.
Participate in teaching workshops or professional associations to enhance instructional effectiveness.
APPOINTMENT DETAILS
This position will be a 9-month appointment with a three-year renewable term.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Required: Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field.
Preferred: Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
Preferred:
Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate students, particularly in foundational or introductory finance courses.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make complex financial concepts accessible and relevant to diverse learners.
Active participation in student professional development initiatives such as résumé and interview workshops, networking events, or career preparation programs.
Professional experience in the finance industry or established relationships with industry practitioners that can enhance student learning and career outcomes.
Demonstrated use of inclusive, experiential, or technology-enhanced teaching methods that foster engagement among all students.
Strong commitment to student learning, engagement, and success in a liberal arts environment.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Preferred: Professional certifications such as CFA, CFP, or similar credentials that demonstrate mastery of finance concepts and industry engagement.
