Are you passionate about fashion, entrepreneurship, and mentoring young creatives? Do you believe in nurturing bold ideas and empowering the next generation of designers to thrive in a rapidly evolving design industry?
Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Design is looking for a dedicated and dynamic professional with an educator’s heart, to join our Diploma in Fashion Management & Design. This is more than a teaching role – it’s an opportunity to lead, inspire, and empower the next generation of fashion thinkers and entrepreneurs.
If you're a passionate individual who is ready to shape the future of design education with your expertise, creativity, and drive both in and beyond the classroom — we want to hear from you.
The responsibilities are as follows:
Lead lessons and workshops focused on fashion merchandising and marketing, connecting product strategy, consumer insights, and brand positioning with current industry practices across retail and e-commerce contexts.
Guide students through real-world product development cycles – from research and concept development to tech packs and final production (virtual or physical).
Mentor students as they explore their creative identity and develop commercially viable, digitally enabled design solutions.
Recognise and respond to the diverse learning needs and backgrounds of students, providing both academic and pastoral support to nurture their overall growth and well-being, and creative confidence through thoughtful, student-centred interventions.
Support interdisciplinary, innovation-led learning that bridges design with related fields such as technology, sustainability, and communication, encouraging students to explore diverse perspectives and real-world applications.
Collaborate with industry and academic peers to co-create curriculum that reflects emerging practices and changing trends in the professional and educational landscape.
Promote skills upgrading amongst working adults through the development and facilitation of professional workshops and continuing education training programmes.

At least 5 years of industry experience, preferably in fashion merchandising, buying, or marketing within the local and/or global fashion industry, with a strong track record in product strategy and brand positioning.
Proven expertise in fashion merchandising and product lifecycle management, with the ability to translate market trends and consumer insights into commercially viable product assortments.
Strong understanding of the fashion ecosystem, including local and global market dynamics, consumer behaviour, retail strategies, and how digital innovation is shaping merchandising, marketing, and omnichannel retail experiences.
Well-versed in contemporary retail and marketing practices, including e-commerce platforms, digital marketing strategies, brand storytelling, and data-informed decision-making across both physical and online retail environments.
Familiarity with digital tools (e.g. Clo3D or similar) as part of the broader product development and visual merchandising process will be an advantage.
A passionate mentor, educator, or industry leader who is motivated by shaping young minds.
A clear and confident communicator who brings authenticity, curiosity, and creative energy into the classroom.
Teaching or mentoring experience preferred – or a strong desire to contribute to education and student growth.
