[What the role is]
As a Lecturer, you will go beyond teaching and facilitating learning. You will play a pivotal role in recognising and nurturing students’ potential, preparing them for lifelong learning and success in the Facility Management and Built Environment sectors.[What you will be working on]
In addition to teaching, you will:
Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in Facility Management, Smart FM, and Building M&E Services.
Mentor and guide students in academic and professional development, including competitions, projects, and industry placements.
Design and oversee industry-relevant projects and consultancy work to provide hands-on experience and real-world exposure.
Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and facilitate internships and placements.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, integrating them into teaching and curriculum development.
Participate in academic administration, including curriculum design, assessment development, and student advisement.
Engage in outreach activities such as networking events with industry partners, industry forums, and professional development workshops.
Undertake industry attachments or consultancy projects regularly to maintain professional relevance and strengthen industry linkages.
[What we are looking for]
We are seeking dynamic and experienced individuals with:
At least 3 years of relevant experience in Facility Management, Built Environment, or Engineering sectors.
Strong hands-on experience in building operations and maintenance, especially in:
Building Management Systems (BMS)
Air-Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV)
Fire Protection Systems
Building Security Systems
Sanitary Plumbing, Gas, and Electrical Systems
Experience in Smart FM technologies such as:
Building Information Modelling (BIM) for FM
Building IoT and Data Analytics
Professional certifications such as:
Certified Facilities Management Expert (CFME)
Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
Fire Safety Manager (FSM)
Licensed Plumber, Gas Service Worker, Electrical Worker, SCEM, etc.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for teaching and mentoring.
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and build strong partnerships with industry and academic stakeholders.
A proactive approach to continuous professional development.
Candidates with strong and relevant experience can look forward to progression to Senior Lecturer or equivalent roles, with opportunities for leadership positions within the Colleges or Headquarters. Regular industry attachments will support ongoing professional growth and excellence.
