About the Position

This role reports to our Technology Operations Learning and Change (TechOps L&C) team at HUB and directly reports to the Learning Design Manager. The Learning and Development (L&D) Consultant will develop learning content across multiple modalities to support the various training curricula and learning deliverables. In this role, the L&D Consultant will develop instructional materials, and assessments, and collaborate with staff in the deployment planning process. This consultant is expected to bring critical thinking skills to the engagement to suggest innovations in the development process.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop learning content – based on adult learning principles – that ensure effective and sustainable learning and performance solutions
  • Consult with business partners and project team members to recommend the best learning solution for the learner and initiative
  • Engage in collaboration with Operations management and staff to gather and validate content
  • Develop projects with other members of the TechOps L&C team (Change Management & Communications, Delivery)
  • Positively represent the evolving model of learning diversity encapsulated in the Operations L&D strategy
  • Develop an understanding of HUB’s business processes and model the HUB’s standard operations in all instructional materials

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in adult learning, instructional design, psychology or related area of study
  • 2+ years’ experience as an instructional designer
  • Experience designing and developing training for Operations and IT
  • Consultation experience and learner-centric thinking
  • Provide instructional design work samples: WBT, vILT, ILT, JA
  • Experience with creating customer-driven projects
  • Build and develop a strong relationship with SMEs, stakeholders, and sponsors
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver with the ability to quickly assess and summarize information and effectively identify issues or risks and potential resolutions
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to multitask, working on several projects at a time
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of and experience with learning development tools such as Articulate 360, Camtasia or other video editing software
  • Ability to travel to the corporate office and/or HUB locations, as needed
